Senior Thesis Project

So as many of you know I am a Senior this year..thank God...and I will be working mainly on my senior thesis for the upcoming months.  I will be photographing men of diverse ethnic backgrounds trying to compare their body and facial features to those of a white man.  I am going to photograph men bare from head to waist and head shots to portray this.  I will use the features of different men to create a white mans face and the facial features of a white man to create a man of color's face.  Yes it is a touchy subject but that's what I do.  I'm pretty content with it and lets hope it all goes smoothly.  I'll put some samples up in a few.

The Strange and Opinionated

So.  There will soon be a new feature that is in the works.  I will be starting a journal magazine called "The strange & Opinionated" which will discuss different things ranging from politics, culture, art and everything in between.  This magazine will always be written in journal entry form and will not always only include my opinion on whatever topic is being discussed but other people's as well.  The first one will be coming out the first week of September and will be featuring a few interesting, opinionated people :) peep the logo. The first topic will be how the "American Dream" influences foreign cultures...stay tuned, guys. 

IM BACK, WITH LOVE OF COURSE

Hello hello hello...how I've missed you all this summer. I've gotten alot of sad,angry and confused emails about the site not being updated. So this is hownit works. This is no longer the primary site but the blog version. I had this urge to make the site into a flash website. I had an art residency at the Westbeth this summer as some of you may know collaborating on a project with artists Sean De Leon and Ellie Simon. It was a pleasure working with them. I ended up with a list of contacts and offers for many more projects during the upcoming year. So I am going back up to school on Wednesday and will be spending most of the year working on my senior thesis...wait for it...I've met alot of new people this summer who I have already or will interview so during the week stay tuned for new interviews and photos etc of what's been going on this summer. Belated Birthday to Myself

LOL sorry im a bit late on this. Thank you to everyone who wished me a happy bday or sent me a gift to my apt.  So im still in DR mode.  Been feeling really lazy lately.  I finalized that I need an intern which sucks...and im still trying to recover from the entire week..YES week smh...ive actually been on a well needed two week vacation..but after tonight  I will be back on track especially since my book has already dropped, no more worries, my projects are working out and now some will actually be up for sale soon so keep posted

"Through Dreams Come Nightmares" book

So my dad called me this morning and told me that my book that will be out in a few months(2-3) came in the mail.  I was so happy..this is what it'll possible look like not sure if we'll change the cover yet.  This is one of my original photographs and I'm just happy that this is almost one goal completed :).  I really want to thank everyone that influenced my book and those who have pushed and supported me.  It's been a process and its just about finished...

announcement:Whats Been Going On

So I know its been a while.  Some of you guys already know why and some of you may not.  Thanks for all of the support you guys, I really appreciate it...on a brighter note after this weekend I'll be going back to my regular old self posting every day(more or less).  Also my cousin, Naomi spoke to me the other night and told me she was 5 months pregnant..soo CONGRATS, but even a bigger congrats since she asked me to be the baby's godmother :) so registry lists & baby shower planning is going to be taking up most of my time, besides my artwork of course.  AND yes the rumors that you guys have been hearing are true.  I will be holding my first art exhibition soon in collaboration with my friend, Illustrator,Waun Daun, who you guys have seen earlier on the site.  Stay tuned I'll be keeping you guys posted on alot of stuff going on in the next few weeks

hey guys sooo..i have to change the site up a little bit just for the next couple of weeks til i get get into the groove. i wont be posting up a "photo a day" everyday instead i'll just be posting up random art that im working on each day whether it be a photo, illustration, w/e....and yes i have bought 5 brand new sketchbooks that i dont doubt will be done by the end of next week(roughly..since i go through them like water).  so for you who have been emailing me or tweeting me only 5 people will get one until i start up again--sorry every1

so i've been checking out alot of random artists and some that were just brought to my attention...underground rappers have really been falling under the raddar..and the industry needs to get back in the game and on their grind and pick these dudes up...I've been checking out my boy Izzy Hott from Washington Heights who just released his first mixtape which I'll promote up here soon...Peter Parker from Ohio just sent me his "best Rapper Alive" video which is dope as hell, I'll have that up here in the next couple days and finally my boy Randy "Yung CEO" founder of White Knight Entertainment let me know about the upcomings of his two talented artists E.L.I.T.E and Prophecy....all coming up soon

Sorry to my Readers

I want to apologize to my readers for not posting lately.  I had lost my cousin last month and Ive been trying to just pull myself together.  I wont be posting the missing 'Photo of the Day' but will just be moving on from here.  Ive recently been putting in 12-13hrs a day besides classes in the photolab/darkroom working on my next big project.  I also finished editing my story that you gys might have read 'Burning Bridge" now called "Burning Bridge of Gestures".  That'll all be posted up during the week inclusing some photos ive been working on as well.  Thanks for all of those who have emailed me or have gotten in touch with me somehow during my time of loss, I really appreciate it and God Bless.

so ive been looking through alot of my work and think that for the next 2 weeks im just going to be putting up old black and white negatives that i scan into my computer---so its all going to be old school b& w photography; back from when i was 9yrs old til probably 15/16....then maybe i'll dedicate a 2 week period for my new b & w photos...ENJOY

Pen Thieves Website

Ok everyone so I am creating a new website called Pen Thieves. It is a colaboration site between myself and 9 other creative writers.  5 spots have already been filled and I need 5 more who are willing to put in the time to this project.  Writers can be poets, spoken word artists, rappers, short story writers, etc--you must send 3-4 pieces of your work along with a photo of yourself and mini bio to iambuttalov3@gmail.com thnx guys spread the word to your friends-- deadline in July 1st.

NOTICEE!!! (NOH8 at SU campaign)

My lovely partner Kayla S. Rivera and myself have started the NOH8 campaign on our Syracuse University campus---original idea from famous photographer, Adam Bouska and partner Jeff Parshley began a silent protest called "NOH8" protesting against Prop 8.  Taking it to another level it revolves also arond any sort of descrimination(i.e. sexism, racism).  Ranging from celebraties to non-celebraties it is a movement.  Kayla and I will be doing the same thing on SU campus.  It starts today, perfect day since the Equality Act was just passed in NY state( LETS GO!!)--photos will be taken for the next 2 weeks SO PLEASE CONTACT ME via email-- cebaez@syr.edu to get my cell.  Thank You all for the support.
