You see everyone is always so caught up in the negative aspects in their lives to ever notice or remember the good things that God has blessed them with-
When your mother told you nothing was impossible because she believed you could do anything you put your mind to; when your dad told you that you would never be to old to sit on his lap…those are the moments that matter.
Your mom is the one who gives you courage, teaches you to be independent, to be a woman. Your father teaches you the love of a man and to never settle for less, while your siblings teach you the importance of others and not just yourself.
You’ve grown and no longer follow. You leave the bad behind in search for the good, far from the block, far from the hood. Finally receiving the acceptance letter to the college of your choice. Realizing it doesn’t take a miracle to accomplish your goals; when you’ve made it when everyone thought you wouldn’t. Mission accomplished when you did the things you thought you couldn’t…those are the moments that matter.
Having conceived a dream as a young teen on what you wanted to be in this world, having nothing but the clearest vision laid out in front of you.
Your able to deal with your past, not run from it, learn from your mistakes instead of regretting them; when you’ve made a difference and stood up for what was right instead of easily being pressured into what was wrong, it takes discipline to get a lesson to stick.
You’ve found those best friends who push you to do better. The ones who criticize you to do better because they know you can. When you’re a major influence in each other’s lives, they can’t see their lives without you, they are your life.
When you look into the eyes of someone who is looking right back at you. Fallen for someone who caught you. Thankful for that one person who healed your broken heart and made their whole world revolve around you…those are the moments that matter.
The day you’ve gotten that diploma handed to you, the day you got your dream job, the day you allow your father to walk you down that aisle or watching your wife coming at you, giving yourself to that one person.
He realizes he never saw himself in this position and for every woman that tried to tie him down, you were the one that made him change.
The look in his eyes when he holds his newborn child for the first time, the thoughts going through your mind on how you were carrying a life in you all this time.
When you’ve found your faith again, noticed that none of this would be possible without God, your strength, you’re guidance… those are the moments that matter.
