Vanished Love Engraved in Wood: an extended sonnet’s lullaby

the ballerina on my music box, stop teasing me
you laugh and whisper secrets so easily seen
you have a dancing partner of your own
and jealousy traces it structure on my bones

dainty porcelain dolls murmur of my untamed behavior
expecting me to sit cross-legged like a lady waiting for my savior
but im tired of glass hearts broken by accident
confused about what you entering my life really meant

your love had vanished before it appeared
in the wood it was engraved
cupid lost all his hope in 'we'
when all his arrows would no longer pierce through me
our hopes became cloudy before the shine
your heart tricked mine

his tongue changed colors from all the believed truths in his lies
and i missed all those times he tried too hard pretending he wasn't like other guys
and the twinkle in his eyes are not the same
changing past, i would've had you gone when you came
i turn my back to my music box, when the lullaby stops
and the magic that once was- drops

your love had vanished before it appeared
in the wood it was engraved
cupid lost all his hope in 'we'
when all his arrows would no longer pierce through me
our hopes became cloudy before the shine
your heart tricked mine
